CV of Luca Vaglio

Luca Vaglio (Rome 1976) has been Associate Professor at the Faculty of Philology and Arts of the University of Kragujevac (Serbia) since 2014. He had previously worked at the Department of European, American and Intercultural Studies of the “Sapienza” University of Rome (2009-2014). At the “Sapienza” University he obtained his degree in Foreign Languages and Literatures (2003) and his PhD (2008). In 2010 he spent a ten-month study stay at the University of Belgrade with a post-doc scholarship of the Basileus Project, funded by the European Commission. Since 2017 he has been a contract professor of Slavic Philology at the eCampus University.

His teaching and research activities have been focused on: history and theory of translation; literary translations from Italian into Serbian, Croatian, Bosnian and vice versa; comparative literature; Serbian, Croatian, Bosnian language and literature; literary and cultural relationships among South Slavic lands and Italy; narrative and autobiographical prose; lyric poetry (sonnet); Italian language in the works of South Slavic authors.

He took part in several international conferences and roundtables (Rome, Perugia, Paris, Barcelona, Belgrade, Kragujevac, Zagreb, Zadar). Since 2018 he has been a member of the Doctoral School in Germanic and Slavic Studies («Sapienza»). Since 2009 he has been the Editorial Secretary of «Ricerche slavistiche»; since 2016 he has been a member of the Editorial Board of the academic journal «Liceum» (Kragujevac). He edited the following books: V. Lipovac-Radulović, Romanismi lessicali in Montenegro. Budua e Pastrovici. La par­te sud-orientale delle Bocche di Cattaro (Rome 2009); V. Desnica, Le primavere di Ivan Galeb (Rome 2016); F. David, Pellegrini del cielo e della terra (Rome 2016); I. Andrić, Racconti francescani (Rome 2017). He also translates from Serbian, Croatian, Bosnian and from English into Italian (see also R. Petrović, Sul lago, Rome 2016).
